For last week's strategy assignments, I had to design a product using local materials within 10miles. So I picked up some fallen branches and made 'mok', a chopstick holder and rest.

Anything that involves with competitive movements of the body excites me. Thus, sport always plays important role in my life as a designer. As a huge sport enthusiast and I spent lots of time watching and playing sports. Often energetic gestures that athletes' body creates inspire me in many ways.

I personally love historical European stadiums. Many of them were renovated multiple times because they were built in the early 1900s. I often mesmerized by these massive structure containing both the history and the advanced technology.

I also look at modern stadiums and airport terminals. Their massive structures containing repetition of interesting lines and forms creates unique aesthetics. And often reflects their culture. I'm interested in looking at transformable designs and many of first class designs are good examples. Their design solution are amazing in terms of maintaining minimal look while carrying various features. Also their color and material choices are very interesting.

Modern civilian aircrafts are perfect the examples of combination of beautiful curves and straight lines.

Eric Avar - Creative director of Nike's innovative Kitchen. "Imagination is more important than knowledge," many of his designs created from pushing his sense of what's possible. Nike free sole (barefoot running) initially developed simply cutting the sole with X-Acto Knife after learning from tract team athletes that they preferred to run without any shoes at all.

He works very closely with professional athletes. He tries very hard to understand athletes' characteristics to create unique story about them so that it could be shown on his design.

Nike Zoom Kobe IV proved that a low-cut profile shoe could provide superior support from its most minimal boot design.

Speed-form rendering

As a part of Visual Communication 5 class assignment,  used photoshop to quickly apply color, material and value on a simple form. Always fun!

In every terms at Art Center, we have to take one or two academic courses that just make us to fall a sleep. However, I decided to use that time to sketch (sorry to my instructors.. I just can't focus...) some ideas on a note. Thankfully, sometimes those sketches turn out to be really cool so that I can even start design something seriously.

ASFC

For last 4 weeks, I've been trying to convince people to play soccer every saturday and make a soccer team. I know we all go to art school, but I couldn't stand anymore after seeing my belly becomes larger and larger. First week, there were only 6 people who showed up and second week, there were 9 people. After weeks and weeks of convincing (almost begging) people to participate in this single motivated movement, people started to like and show some passion in the game of soccer.

Yeah.. we couldn't get away with the orange dot represents that of Art Center. Star means 1st year period of the team and 13-14 represents the school year of 2013 to 2014.
